EPS Sump Pump Guardian® |
|
"More Power, Lasts
Longer" |
|
Add-On up
to 2 external batteries for even longer lasting power! |
 |
The EPS Sump Pump
Guardian® offers 1320W per hour output through its
internal 48v battery, using an inverter, transformer and
advanced electrical system to provide “Power On Demand”
to your sump pump during any power outage. The advanced
technology inverter used in the EPS Sump Pump Guardian®
is capable of managing the very high start up amp levels
of any residential sump pump. |
|
|
Control Panel |
|
 |
|
Advanced onboard control panel keeps you up to date
on your EPSSPG's operation. |
|
 |
Immediately upon the
outage occurring, the EPS Sump Pump Guardian® senses the
loss of power and makes power available to operate your
sump pump at 99%+ of your sump pumps pumping capacity. |
|
 |
Unlike smaller
battery backup pumps that operate only the small
pump that comes with the battery (usually @30% to 40% of
your pumps’ pumping capacity), the EPS Sump Pump
Guardian® operates your sump pump at its full capacity
to empty your sump pit quickly and efficiently. |
|
 |
Regardless of whether
your sump pump operates every minute or every 20 minutes
during its heaviest use, the EPS Sump Pump Guardian
provides immediate and long lasting operation of your
sump pump. |
|
 |
If your sump pump
operates frequently and often, we recommend adding
on either one or two additional 48v battery packs, which
will increase the duration of operation of your pump. |

Outline of Setup Instructions |
| |
 |
Upon receipt of the
EPS Sump Pump Guardian (“EPSSPG”), inspect the
“Shock watch” indicator on the side of the delivery box
to insure the unit has not been damaged. If it has been,
contact us by phone or email and we will provide
instructions. |
|
 |
After unpacking the
EPSSPG and inspecting it for damage, let’s charge
the unit. Place the unit near a 120v live household
outlet. If you purchased an additional external, add-on
battery, connect it as described on the battery case,
using the connecting cable provided. Then plug the
EPSSPG into the outlet and turn the unit on, using the
button on the front of the EPSSPG. |
|
 |
Allow the EPSSPG to
charge for 24 hours to insure it achieves full
charge. After the 24 hours charge, leaving the unit on,
unplug the EPSSPG from the outlet. This simulates
operation of the EPSSPG during a power outage. The green
LED lights should all illuminate and an audible alarm
should sound every 10 seconds. If this is what occurs,
proceed to install it with your sump pump. |

EPSSPG |
|
 |
|
Plug your sump pump into one of the outlets on
the back of your unit. Plug your unit into the
wall socket. |
|
 |
To install, you
simply plug the EPSSPG into the outlet your sump
pump has been using. Then plug the sump pump into one of
the “Output” outlets on the rear of the EPSSPG. Turn the
EPSSPG on – it is installed! |
|
 |
There are two tests
you should run to insure normal operations:
- Raising the ball of
your sump pump, initiate the operation of your
pump to insure the sump pump operates while
plugged into the EPSSPG.
- After that has been
completed and there is again water in your sump pit,
unplug the EPSSPG from the wall outlet, to
simulate an outage, and again initiate the operation
of your sump pump. It should operate smoothly and
effectively. After the operation ends, remember to
plug the EPSSPG into the wall outlet.

|
 |
No further
maintenance or preparation is needed. The EPS Sump
Pump Guardian® is now on the job, keeping your sump pump
operating! |

Frequently Asked
Questions |
| |
| How do Sealed
Lead Acid (SLA) batteries compare to Marine Batteries? |
| Marine batteries
have many nice features, but for use in the home, we
consider SLA batteries the best option. Marine batteries
require preparation, including adding acid or liquid to them
to initiate operation, as well as maintaining liquid levels
throughout the life of the battery.
Additionally, Marine batteries
may require ventilation due to emissions from the battery.
When we consider these issues and the comparably shorter
life span of a marine battery, our decision to offer
maintenance free, no emission SLA batteries was easy. |
| |
| How long will
the EPS Sump Pump Guardian keep my sum pump operating during
a power outage? |
| Different sump
pumps use differing levels of energy during their operation,
and of course, sump pits vary by size. However, the EPS Sump
Pump Guardian should operate a residential sump pump 100
times. |

| |
| How long will
my batteries last, and when they need to be replaced, how do
I do it and how much does it cost? |
| The SLA
batteries you have are expected to last 5 to 7
years, and we recommend replacement after 5 years.
If they were replaced today, the cost would be $299
from us. Specialty battery stores, such as
Interstate batteries or Batteries Plus offer this
type of battery and can replace them for you. When
it is time, call and we will go over options. |
